Categories

A script can be:

Release	Developed on Blender Foundation's servers and included in the official Blender distribution (see Addons Process).
Contrib	Developed on Blender Foundation's servers, but only available in test builds (for example on builder.blender.org) when enabling the Testing category for addons, not in official releases (on blender.org) (see Addons Process).
External	Two cases: Submitted to Addons project on developer.blender.org and under review. Not developed on Blender Foundation's servers and hosted elsewhere (e.g. Luxrender or Yafaray addons). Note: if a script is "External", use it at your own risk.
